Juice oranges have a very high juice content and less disturbing bitter substances. Furthermore, due to their kernels, they are less suitable for consumption than oranges. The fruits are roundish to elongated oval and medium sized with a diameter of about 6 - 9 cm. The skin and flesh are orange at the beginning, later harvests are slightly greenish again. Typical juice oranges are Valencia Late and Salustiana.

The Valencia Late Orange is medium sized and can be pressed very well to delicious orange juice. It tastes less sweet but has a refreshing slightly sour taste. Valencia Late Oranges are usually available from February.

In former times, already from December, Salustianas can be found in the shops. Salustiana oranges have an even greater juice content. Here often already 2 oranges are enough to fill a glass with juice. The taste of this variety is less acidic and slightly sweet.
