Alexander Lucas" pears, regional harvest

The pear originally comes from the Caucasus and Anatolia. The first cultivated variety was grown in Greece almost 3000 years ago. Today, France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria and South Africa are the main countries of cultivation. The pear comprises up to 5000 different varieties.

They contain vitamins A and C as well as folic acid, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

Pears should be stored at room temperature until they are ripe and then kept in the fridge to preserve their freshness.
