Camembert Isigny

Camembert is one of the most famous cheeses in the world. It comes from the Pays d-Auge, a landscape in Normandy that stretches across the départements of Calvados and Orne and a small part of the Eure. The region has gone down in cheese history with the towns of Camembert, Livarot and Pont-l-Évêque. Our Camembert Isigny comes from the village of Isigny-sur-Mer, a French commune in the Département of Calvados in the Normandy region. This origin gives it its unmistakable Camembert character. The Isigny region was one of the largest wetlands in Europe until the sea receded in the 16th century. It left behind a clay soil with rich alluvial sediments on which abundant green grass grows. For centuries, the region's dairy farmers have produced exceptionally fine milk and earned a reputation for quality.
