Cherries contain many healthy ingredients such as potassium, phosphorus, iron, vitamins, folic acid and phytochemicals. The high content of phytochemicals, especially flavonoids and
phenolic acids, provides the body with antioxidant protection against free radicals.
Cherries are best eaten fresh. Otherwise, they can also be kept chilled in the fridge for around five days, preferably in a sealable container, as they easily take on different odours.
