Our company was founded in 1988 as a limited liability company (GmbH) and has remained independent to this day. From the very beginning, the market conditions at the time and our personal interest focused on natural foods with great taste. As a result, we constantly strive to bring new organic products—not yet widely available on the market—to consumers. Our primary focus is on developing products made largely from ingredients sourced from certified organic farming. Our fish selection, which was small at first, has expanded significantly in recent years. We place particular emphasis on quality. Our priority is not only conscious nutrition but also healthy eating at the highest level. We use only fish from the open Atlantic Ocean, due to its lower pollution levels compared to the Mediterranean, the Baltic Sea, and the North Sea. We oppose driftnet fishing and support initiatives for sustainable fisheries. The design of our product packaging was highly unusual for 1988. Today, this packaging line stands for high quality and great taste. This brand recognition among customers reaffirms the value of the work we have done so far. The Fontaine brand is a well-established name in the natural foods market both in Germany and abroad (England, Switzerland, Italy, and Austria). We supply exclusively to organic specialty retailers and approximately 30 organic wholesalers in Germany. We do not supply conventional grocery stores or deliver directly to end consumers. Abroad as well, we supply only organic specialty retailers. With this in mind, we remain committed to expanding the range of products available to organic specialty retailers with a constant stream of new, high-quality, and unique offerings.
