Mirabelles

In the spring, the bright white clusters of flowers on the mirabelle plum tree are a delight to the eye. Then, during harvest season from July through September, the palate gets its treat. Mirabelle plums are harvested by shaking the tree from which they hang.
The plump, yellow-orange fruits tempt every fruit lover with their sweet to sweet-tart flavor.

This stone fruit is rich in vitamin C and potassium. It has a diuretic effect and aids digestion. Thanks to its sweetness, the mirabelle is ideal for distilling schnapps.

Ripe mirabelle plums have an orange-yellow color with reddish spots. The flesh is firm and separates easily from the pit. Mirabelle plums are highly perishable. They should therefore be stored in a cool place with high humidity. They stay fresh in the refrigerator for two to three days.
