Pineapple

The pineapple originates from northern Brazil and Venezuela. Today, it is cultivated worldwide in tropical regions as a fruit plant. Christopher Columbus brought the pineapple to Europe in the 16th century. The pineapple has a sweet and sour, intense and fruity taste.

They contain vitamins B1, B3, B6, beta-carotene and C, as well as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron and zinc.

Uncut pineapples can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. At a temperature of around 10°C, they can be stored for up to a week.
Hanging the pineapple by its crown can extend its shelf life by up to a week.
Cut pineapple is best wrapped in cling film and stored in the refrigerator, where it will keep for up to 3 days.
