SOTO stands for 100% organic and natural vegetarian specialties with no artificial flavors or additives, and free of eggs and palm oil. With SOTO, you re choosing organic convenience foods that can be prepared quickly or enjoyed cold made for 35 years by a traditional family-owned business in the Chiemgau region. Because we place great importance on regional ingredients and active climate protection, we source some of our ingredients, for example, from Bavarian organic model regions.
We actively support our local agriculture by sourcing regional raw materials. For example, we obtain buckwheat, emmer wheat, and oats from Bavarian eco-model regions. The grains are grown exclusively for us, ensuring that farmers can count on guaranteed purchase volumes. For us, this partnership means working together as equals, while also making an important contribution to climate protection. By keeping transport distances short, we avoid unnecessary CO2 emissions, which is why we keep the sourcing radius of our raw materials as small as possible.
Environmental protection is an issue that has been very close to our hearts from the very beginning; that s why, for example, we rely on green electricity from renewable energy sources and plastic packaging made from 57% recycled plastic. Heat recovery from our production process powers our heating and hot water systems excess process heat is transferred to neighboring company buildings. Our company vehicles are gradually being converted to electric power. In our in-house factory outlet, we give products that can no longer be sold in regular stores a second chance. In this way, we combat unnecessary food waste one of the largest sources of CO2 emissions.
Since we are aware of the prosperity in which we live, we would like to give something back and support various social projects both internationally and within Germany. In addition to our sponsored children in China, Liberia, and the Dominican Republic, we support regional events with in-kind and monetary donations, as well as larger events such as the One Earth Camp organized by BUNDjugend Hessen.
