Rocket

Rocket has existed as a useful plant since ancient times and was eaten in the Mediterranean region in Roman times.
In Germany, the trend towards international and Mediterranean cuisine led to rocket becoming popular.

Rocket tastes hot, spicy, slightly bitter and resembles the flavour of cress.
It has a high content of iodine, beta-carotene and folic acid, as well as vitamin C, potassium and calcium.

Rocket is best used fresh, but wrapped in a damp cloth in the vegetable compartment of the fridge, it will keep for one to two days.
