Sweet potatoes

These two plant species share a common origin, as both come from Central and South America, and both have a high starch content.
Sweet potatoes are about 15 cm long, spindle-shaped, and have a pointed end.
The flesh, which contains sugar and starch, is reddish-orange, though in some varieties it can range from yellow to white. Sweet potatoes should be stored like potatoes: in a cool, dark,
and dry place, but not below 5°C.
They can be used in just as many ways as potatoes.
