Sweetie

The Sweetie is a cross between an acidless grapefruit and a white grapefruit. It has a high juice content, 2% higher sugar content and 0.6% lower acidity than other grapefruits. The very thick skin is often still green and bitter at the beginning of the season. However, this has no influence on the ripeness and sweetness of the fruit. The yellow colour is induced by cold night temperatures. However, as there are still some warm nights in the growing countries at the beginning of November, the fruit remains green.
